Shingai is my Shona name and it means "Be Brave and Of Good Courage". This name has become the anthem of my life. I try to live a life that is balanced between the silly and the serious, though both require courage. My life is not an open book but what I do choose to share are small steps on my journey toward bravery.
One of my friends is having an abortion tomorrow. I didn't really think much about it until today. I thought about the fact that I was almost adopted. I don't know if abortion was ever an option in my mom's mind but ,if it was, I am happy that she let me live...and that she kept me.

I am pretty down to earth these days. Trying not to become a cynical person but realistic. I am pretty much at peace with myself.
